Hi!  I'm new here and just wanted to post the granny square bag I made.  It was my first time making a bag, so I was pretty proud of the results.

Anyway, it started out being a purse, but today - needing to take my pomeranian to the vet and not being able to find his carrier - I discovered that the purse makes a great pet bag.  My little baby loved being in it.

Jul. 30th, 2009 @ 11:40 pm wondering if anyone could help...
hi everyone. I'm not sure if this is allowed, so if it's not, i'm very sorry and just delete this. =)

i have a friend from high school who is 25 and facing a horrible situation- being a single, unemployed mom with ovarian cancer. She wants to learn to crochet as a way to get her mind off things and think about something else for a little while. I want to give her somethings to get her started. I have a little yarn, but not much and no extra hooks or a how-to booklet. I'm hoping to get together a hook for each type of yarn (f or g for lightweight, i for worsted and a k for bulky), some super saver or sugar n cream, and a little "learn to crochet" booklet of some sort.

if anyone can help, i'll make you a set of 4 stitch markers for your time and kindness. Just comment on my journal (there's a similar post there) with your email address and i'll get with you. Thank you, thank you, thank you! =)

I taught a friend from work how to crochet about 2 months ago.  She's 24 and her husband was teasing her that if she is going to start crocheting then she truely is "Suzy Homemaker"
So as a joke for this statement she wanted to make him a "six pack" of  football beer cozy's to surpise him with on Father's Day.
She finished her first one tonight.

We used a Coke bottle because we didn't know what our boss would think of us bringing in a Beer bottle to work, empty or not.  It does fit a beer bottle nice though, before she put on the laces I ran it to the nearest gas station to try it on.

Which was fun to walk in, grab a beer just to take a photo, put the beer back then leave without buying anything.  Good thing I know the employee at the store.  A customer looked at me like I was nuts.  *giggle*

Can anyone recommend a crocheted pattern for baby hats, specifically for preemie/newborns? I have a tight stitch so it would be great if the pattern had a gauge and/or offered sizing guidelines. Thanks!

Some of you might remember I had mentioned that my friends and I where crocheting hats to send to my sister who is in the Navy to give out to sailors on her ship.  A friend who didn't know how to crochet asked if I could teach her how so she could help us out.  We took a bit of a break from that but will be starting up again soon.  In the meantime she has been practicing...

She's been working hard at it.  This is her first complete project...

Evil S.O.B. Robs Little Old Lady of Her Livelihood By Cleaning Out Her Yarn Shop.

I don't think I need to express my anger and disgust. I'm sure you're all as angry as I am. However, I wonder if they don't return it, if some yarn harlots would band together and send this poor lady some yarn to restock her shop. I don't have anything like Misti Alpaca, but I'll go buy her some Lion Brand and send it to her. ;_;

  x-posted...sorry..

Awhile back I posted about how my sister was coming home from her 6 month deployment on a navy ship.  My co-workers and I had been making hats for the crew.  My son and mother were allowed to travel on the ship for 2 days (along with other family members of the crew) in a kind of "welcome home" type of cruise at which time they passed out the hats we made for them.

Here are some pictures!
